Arthur Shoji and Michael Massucco Hospitalized After Their Dirt Bikes Collide on Marysville Road near Old Toll Road
2 Men Seriously Injured in Yuba County Dirt Bike Crash
Yuba County, California: The California Highway Patrol said 62-year-old Arthur Shoji and 51-year-old Michael Massucco were hospitalized with serious injuries after their dirt bikes collided Friday morning in the Camptonville area of Yuba County.
The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on Marysville Road near Old Toll Road.
Authorities said both men were riding their street-legal dirt bikes when Massucco slowed to pull onto the shoulder of the road and Shoji accidentally rear-ended him.
Both riders were ejected from their bikes onto the roadway.
Massucco was taken to the hospital by a ground ambulance with a suspected broken collarbone, and Shoji was airlifted to the hospital with multiple broken bones, head trauma, and internal injuries.
Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
Investigators said drugs and alcohol were not considered contributing factors.
