Steven Kingsley Close Dies After Highway 150 Bicycle Crash in Santa Barbara County
Carpinteria Man Killed in Bicycle Accident on Highway 150 Identified
Santa Barbara County, California: The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office identified the cyclist who died Tuesday after colliding with a car on Highway 150 as 80-year-old Steven Kingsley Close of Carpinteria.
The accident happened around 8:44 a.m. between Highway 101 and Via Real in Carpinteria.
Preliminary investigation suggested that the rider made an unsafe lane change in front of traffic traveling the same direction and got hit by a car.
The driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene.
