1 Airlifted After Crash on SR-1 at San Gregorio State Beach
Half Moon Bay, California: One person was airlifted to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash that happened Monday afternoon on State Route 1 at San Gregorio State Beach.
Emergency crews responded to the scene just after the crash occurred at around 4:55 p.m. near San Gregorio Road.
The responders found a Subaru and a Chevy Malibu involved in a crash. The Malibu was stuck in nearby bushes.
A helicopter landed and airlifted a seriously injured victim to Stanford Hospital.
The highway remained shut down in both directions during the rescue operation and investigation.
The highway was reopened almost two hours later.
CHP officers are investigating the cause of the accident.
