One Person Hospitalized After Hesperia Car Accident on Main Street
1 Airlifted After Fiery Collision on Main Street in Hesperia
Hesperia, California: One person was airlifted after a fiery collision involving two vehicles that happened on New Year’s Eve in Hesperia.
The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District responded to Main Street between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue after receiving reports of the collision around 10:32 p.m.
The responders found a Ford Focus and Honda sedan involved in the accident. The Honda was fully engulfed in flames.
The firefighters shut down the westbound lanes of Main Street to extinguish the fire.
The driver of the Ford was taken by ground ambulance to Hesperia Airport, from where they were airlifted to a trauma center. The car’s passenger was not hurt.
The occupants of the Honda exited the vehicle before it caught fire and were not seriously injured.
Authorities said the collision also left the Hesperia Leisure League Thrift Shop with damage to its windows.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
