Madera, California: One person was airlifted from the scene of a multi-car accident that happened Thursday on Highway 99 in Madera County.
Multiple vehicles collided in a construction zone south of Avenue 12, authorities said.
One person was airlifted to the hospital in an unknown condition.
It was unclear if there were other injured parties.
Investigators blocked Highway 99 and detoured traffic off Avenue 12.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
