1 Dies, 6 Hurt Injured in Crash at Calvine Road and Franklin Boulevard in Sacramento
Sacramento, California (May 5, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that killed one individual and injured several others at an intersection on Thursday afternoon in Sacramento.
The fatal accident occurred at around 4:25 p.m. on May 4 at Calvine Road and Franklin Boulevard.
Police confirmed that a stolen sedan sped off, and a Sacramento police officer attempted to stop it. The sedan’s driver was driving recklessly, and police did not pursue the car.
A while after, the sedan driver crashed into a pickup diver at the intersection.
A woman riding in the sedan suffered fatal injuries due to the collision.
A man and two juveniles suffered critical injuries and were taken to hospital.
Two pickup passengers sustained severe injuries, while a third-person riding in the pickup sustained moderate injuries.
Police blocked Franklin Boulevard between Basset Way and Adalis Drive.
Further details regarding this incident were not released.
The incident remains under investigation.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
