Bicyclist Critically Injured in Collision at Thunderbird Road and Wichita Road in Apple Valley
1 Injured in Apple Valley Bicycle Accident at Thunderbird Road and Wichita Road
Apple Valley, California – A bicyclist was critically injured after being struck by a car on Monday night in Apple Valley.
The collision happened at Thunderbird Road and Wichita Road at around 9:10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 36-year-old man was driving a black Ford Explorer eastbound on Thunderbird when he struck a 52-year-old Apple Valley man riding a bicycle eastbound on Thunderbird.
The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was transported to an area hospital before being airlifted to another hospital.
The driver of the Ford Explorer was unhurt. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) is investigating the accident.
