Shasta County, California – One person was seriously injured on Sunday morning in Shasta County.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened at around 11:09 a.m. on Highway 299 near Whiskey Creek.
Two vehicles collided on the highway in unclear circumstances. CHP says one of the drivers was using a phone prior to the collision.
One person suffered major injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
