1 Killed, 1 Injured in La Mesa Car Crash on Interstate 8
La Mesa, California – A man was killed and another was injured in a wrong-way car crash that happened on Saturday night in La Mesa.
The accident was reported at around 11:40 p.m. on Interstate 8 just west of Fletcher Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A man was driving a white Chevrolet truck westbound on eastbound lanes when he collided head-on with a blue Honda Accord.
CHP says the Chevrolet driver got out of the car and attempted to run across the westbound lanes and was struck by a black Ford F-150 truck.
The Chevrolet driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the Honda suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
More details about the collision were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
