1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Concord Crash on Highway 680

Concord, California – A driver died and another was injured in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred on Sunday night in Concord.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred on the southbound side of Highway 680 at around 10:55 p.m.

A black Honda Civic occupied by a male adult driver and a female passenger, crashed into a concrete barrier on Highway 680 just south of Highway 4.

The Honda came to a rest blocking the 3 and 4 lanes and the driver got out of the car and was struck by a southbound black Chevrolet Tahoe.

The impact pushed the Honda to the southbound lanes and was struck by a silver Toyota Corolla.

The Corolla crashed into the concrete center divider and overturned.

The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene while the Corolla driver was taken to hospital with severe injuries.

No additional information about the crash was provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
