1 Fatally Injured After Truck Crash at Montgomery Street and 5th Avenue

Oroville, California – The Oroville police is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that killed one individual and injured two others on Sunday evening.

The deadly crash occurred at the Montgomery Street and 5th Avenue at about 6:00 p.m.

Oroville police confirmed a Chevrolet pickup truck was heading on 5th Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver did not halt at the posted stop sign at Montgomery Street. The Chevy then slammed into an eastbound Ford pickup truck.

The Chevy driver was found lying unconscious inside his vehicle. The motorist was declared dead at the scene after life-saving techniques failed.

Emergency crews rushed the Ford driver and their passenger to an area hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Authorities closed the junction for around three and a half hours due to the crash.

An investigation is ongoing,
