1 Killed, 2 Injured in Early Morning Bakersfield Car Crash

Bakersfield, California: A man died, and two women were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash that occurred early Friday morning

The Bakersfield Police Department said the accident happened at around 12:10 a.m. at Akers Road and Pacheco Road.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a man was driving a car north on Akers Road with a woman as his passenger.

At the same time, another woman was driving her car west on Pacheco Road with a third woman as her passenger.

Police said the vehicles collided for a reason yet to be established.

The man lost control of his vehicle after the impact, hit a fence, then rolled over, ejecting both occupants.

The man died in the crash. His passenger was hospitalized with injuries and is expected to recover.

The female driver was not injured, but her passenger was hospitalized for her injuries.

Police are investigating speed as a possible factor.
