One Person Killed, Two Others Hospitalized After Head-On Collision on Highway 211 in Clackamas County
1 Killed, 2 Injured in Highway 211 Crash in Clackamas County
Clackamas County, Oregon: One person died, and two others were hurt in a head-on collision that took place Sunday morning on Highway 211 near Estacada, officials said.
According to the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office, the deceased was 32-year-old Kristina Mari Copeland of Gervais.
The accident occurred at about 10:46 a.m. near milepost 25.
The Oregon State Police said Copland was traveling northbound on the highway when, for an unknown reason, she allowed her 1992 Toyota Camry to cross the center line and collide head-on with a 2004 Jeep Liberty.
The Jeep rolled over onto its roof.
Copeland died at the crash scene.
The Jeep driver, Michelle Aretha Thornberg, 48, and her juvenile passenger were taken to OHSU for treatment of their injuries.
Highway 211 was closed for about four hours during the investigation.
