1 Killed, 2 Injured in Interstate 5 Crash in San Juan Capistrano
San Juan Capistrano, California: The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly traffic collision that happened Tuesday morning in San Juan Capistrano.
One person died, and two others were hospitalized after the accident.
The collision transpired at about 5:16 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 at Junipero Serra Road.
Police officers and firefighters arrived at the scene and found a black Jeep Cherokee and a stake bed truck involved in the crash.
A female occupant of the Jeep was killed in the accident. The report said the body was trapped under the stake bed truck and required extrication.
The firefighters transported two other victims by ground ambulance to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
A SigAlert was issued closing southbound traffic lanes. All lanes were back open at 8:02 a.m.
