Amador County, California – One person was killed and three others injured in a head-on collision that happened on Friday evening in Amador County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 88 near Silver Drive.
A Chevrolet Trailblazer was eastbound on Highway 88 when it crossed the yellow line into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Ford Explorer.
The impact of the crash sent the Ford down an embankment while the Chevrolet remained on the highway blocking both lanes.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other people were taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the crash is underway.

According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
