1 Killed, 3 Injured in Cambria Car Crash on 1 near Burton Drive

Cambria, California – One person was killed in a head-on collision that happened on Sunday afternoon in Cambria.

The fatal collision happened around 3:20 p.m. in the northbound lane of Highway 1, north of Burton Drive.

The California Highway Patrol says a vehicle was traveling north at a high rate of speed when it swerved into the southbound lane and collided head-on with another car.

The 20-year-old Rocklin woman who was driving the northbound car was killed in the accident.

A 19-year-old resident of Flagstaff, Arizona, who was a passenger in the northbound car suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The 56-year-old male driver of the southbound car and his 59-year-old female passenger were hospitalized with major injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
