1 Killed, 3 Injured in Car Crash near Modesto Airport
Modesto, California: One person died, and three others, including two children, were hospitalized after a traffic collision that took place Sunday morning in the Beard Industrial District in Modesto.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 4:17 a.m. on McClure Road north of Leckron Road.
The Modesto police and firefighters responded to the scene after receiving reports of a crash with pin-in.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Scion XB was heading northbound when, for an unknown reason, it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a big rig trailer parked on the side of the road.
A wrecker tow truck was used to lift the trailer off the car.
The 34-year-old Modesto man driving the Scion was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 9-year-old girl was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. A 5-year-old girl was flown to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera. A 29-year-old Modesto woman was transported to Memorial Medical Center.
Authorities did not immediately determine the cause of the collision.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
