1 Killed, 4 Injured After Police Chase Ends in Crash in San Francisco

San Francisco, California: One person is dead, and several others injured after a Mission District crash caused by a carjacking suspect being pursued by police Tuesday morning.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the crash happened just after 10 a.m. near 16th Street and Potrero Avenue involving a suspected stolen city vehicle.

Authorities said before the collision, a carjacking and a physical struggle occurred between a city employee and a carjacking suspect near Folsom and Mabini streets.

The vehicle was later spotted in the area of Kansas and 25th streets, and a police chase started.

As the suspect evaded police, the truck rammed into an SUV near 16th and Potrero.

Both vehicles careened into a bus stop, seriously injuring two people.

The truck then crashed into the front of a store, carrying the victims from the bus stop with it.

Police officers arrested the suspect at the scene and asked paramedics to respond.

Four victims and the suspect were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

One of the victims died while receiving treatment.

Authorities are investigating the collision.
