1 Killed, 9 Injured in Santa Monica Crash

Santa Monica, California: One person died, and nine others were hurt in a two-vehicle collision that happened Saturday afternoon in Santa Monica.

Police said the wreck occurred at around 3:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Pacific Coast Highway near the California Incline.

A Kia occupied by six adults and two small children was heading northbound on the highway when it attempted to turn left into Beach Lot Four North.

A Toyota Camry occupied by two adults heading south T-boned the Kia on the passenger-side rear door.

A passenger in the back of the Kia sustained a major leg injury, and the rest of the occupants of both vehicles suffered injuries considered minor.

Paramedics responded and transported all the victims to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, where the seriously injured patient died.

Santa Monica police closed all northbound lanes of PCH between the 900 and 1000 blocks during an investigation.

CHP also shut down the westbound 10 Freeway at Fourth Street.
