1 Killed, Another Critically Injured After Pickup Truck Slams into Firetruck and Bystanders in Clark County

Clark County, Washington: A woman died, and another person was seriously injured after a pickup truck slammed into the scene of an earlier car collision Friday night in Clark County.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the deadly crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Interstate 5 near milepost 17.

Authorities said 44-year-old Guadalupe Munoz of Woodland, Washington, was driving a Nissan pickup truck north on I-5, approaching the scene of a collision that had happened around 10 p.m.

Crews were finishing working on the scene of the crash when the pickup truck slammed into a firetruck, careened into the first crash scene, narrowly missing the fire crew, and then hit two bystanders who had stopped to render aid.

Authorities said one of the bystanders, Jessica Blinebry of Vader, Washington, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim was hospitalized with critical injuries.

Munoz was not injured and was charged with vehicular homicide.
