1 Killed, Another Injured After Car Slams into Back of Tow Truck near Agua Dulce
Agua Dulce, California: One person died in a multi-vehicle collision that happened early Friday morning near Agua Dulce, the California Highway Patrol said.
Three vehicles collided around 1:21 a.m. on the Antelope (14) Freeway near the Escondido Canyon Road off-ramp.
Authorities said the crash happened when one of the cars rear-ended a tow truck. At least one of the vehicles caught fire after the impact.
The vehicle that hit the tow truck got wedged underneath the truck.
An occupant of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person was hospitalized in an unknown condition.
CHP officers closed all northbound lanes of the freeway for several hours during the investigation.
