Salinas, California: One person died, and another was injured in a head-on collision that happened Tuesday night near an intersection in Salinas.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 11:53 p.m. near W Blanco Rod and Hitchcock Road.
A gray Honda collided head-on with another vehicle and went off the roadway.
An occupant of the Civic went unconscious after the collision.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after the accident.
One person died in the accident.
Another victim was transported to Natividad Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Police are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:09 p.m. at Magnolia Avenue and Myers Street.
A motorcyclist reportedly collided with a vehicle on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
The male rider was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Oxnard, California: A motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Saturday afternoon at an intersection in Oxnard.
The incident was reported around 4:45 p.m. at Ventura Road and Second Street.
Authorities said a 26-year-old Bakersfield man was driving a 2022 Toyota Tacoma heading northbound on Ventura Road when he failed to yield to three other drivers while making a left turn at the intersection and caused a collision.
A motorcyclist involved in the crash was hospitalized in critical condition.
Officers are investigating drug impairment as a possible contributing factor.

Isleton, California: A motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a car Sunday afternoon near Isleton, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident was reported just after 2 p.m. on State Route 160 near State Route 12.
A rider on a red motorcycle reportedly attempted to pass a black Ford Focus but hit it.
Solano County firefighters responded to the scene and requested an air ambulance to transport the seriously injured rider to a hospital.
The victim was airlifted to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center in unknown condition.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
