1 Killed in 580 Freeway Car Crash in Oakland
Oakland, California: One person was killed in an early Sunday morning car accident that happened on 580 Freeway in Oakland.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fiery wreck was reported around 1:57 a.m. in the westbound lanes at the Castro Street on-ramp.
Two vehicles collided under unclear circumstances and caught fire.
At least one person died from injuries suffered in the accident.
Westbound 580 Freeway was shut down at the Castrol Street on-ramp following the collision. Traffic was being diverted onto Castro Street.
