Bakersfield, California – A motorcyclist is dead after a collision that happened in Bakersfield on Sunday morning.
The fatal motorcycle accident happened at around 11:18 a.m. at Airport Drive and State Road, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on State Road when it crashed into a northbound vehicle that allegedly failed to stop for a red light.
The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where they died while receiving treatment.
The car driver stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Authorities ruled out drugs, alcohol and speed as factors in the collision.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
