1 Killed in Broadside Accident on Hwy 238 in Jackson County

Jackson County, Oregon: 79-year-old Seaven James Wyatt of Jacksonville died in a broadside collision that happened Friday afternoon at Highway 238 and Upper Applegate Road in Jackson County.

According to the Oregon State Police, the wreck occurred around 3:15 p.m. near milepost 25.

Authorities said Wyatt was driving a Ford Aspire west on the highway when he made a left turn onto Upper Applegate Road, crossing directly into the path of a Toyota Tacoma going eastbound.

The vehicles were involved in a T-bone collision.

Wyatt was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the Tacoma, 70-year-old Ramon Rios Duran, sustained minor injuries.

The highway was closed for about two and a half hours following the collision.
