Chandler, Arizona (September 13, 2023) – One person died after being struck by a semi-truck on Tuesday night near Chandler.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the accident happened along Interstate 10 Freeway at milepost 174, northwest of Nelson Road.
Authorities say a semi-truck struck a pedestrian on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
The victim was killed in the accident. The name of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.
The Arizona Department of Transportation closed the westbound lanes of the freeway as the scene was processed.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
