Irvine, California – One person was killed in a collision that left two other people injured on Saturday evening in Irvine.
The crash was reported at around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Irvine Boulevard and Sand Canyon Avenue, according to the Irvine Police Department.
A BMW was reportedly broadsided by a gold Lexus at the intersection in unclear circumstances.
A 47-year-old woman in the BMW was taken to a local hospital where she died while receiving treatment.
Two other occupants of the BMW were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Lexus driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash.
An investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
