1 Killed in Dana Point Car Accident at Coast Highway and Palisades Drive
Orange County, California (November 7, 2023) – One person was killed in a suspected DUI car crash that happened near Dana Point on Sunday evening, November 5.
The 8:20 p.m. collision happened near Coast Highway and Palisades Drive, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
A 2019 BMW driven by Evan Madison Owen, of Colorado, was traveling southbound on the highway when it rear-ended a 999 Plymouth.
The male driver of the Plymouth was transported to a local hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
Owen was initially arrested on suspicion of DUI while causing injury, but a second-degree murder charge was later added.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the cause of the accident.
