1 Killed in Elk Grove Crash on 5 Freeway near Hood Franklin Road
Elk Grove, California – A 19-year-old Antioch man was killed in a car accident on Saturday night in Elk Grove.
The fatal collision was reported around 9:18 p.m. on Interstate 5 Freeway near the Hood Franklin Road exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was driving a 2012 Infiniti when he crashed into the rear of a 2019 Ford van.
The impact of the collision caused the van to roll over into the right-hand shoulder while the Infiniti crashed into the center divider and overturned.
The driver of the Infiniti was ejected and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
A passenger in the Infiniti was hospitalized with major injuries.
The Ford driver was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
