1 Killed in Escondido Crash on San Pasqual Road near Sunset Hills
Escondido, California – One person was killed in a fiery car crash on Sunday afternoon in San Pasqual Valley.
The fatal collision happened at 13550 San Pasqual Road near Sunset Hills just after 1:30 p.m., according to the Escondido Police Department.
A 19-year-old man was driving a red 2003 Pontiac eastbound on San Pasqual Road when he lost control and swerved into the westbound lane where he collided head-on with a 2023 white Chevy Bolt.
The driver of the Pontiac was killed in the accident.
A 79-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman in the Chevy Bolt were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
