One Person Dies in Tracy Car Accident on Interstate 580 near Corral Hollow Road
1 Killed in Fiery, Wrong-Way Car Crash on I-580 in Tracy
Tracy, California: One person died in a fiery wrong-way collision that happened early Sunday morning on Interstate 580 in Tracy, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident was reported around 2:06 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the freeway between the Corral Hollow Road on-ramp and off-ramp.
The report said a gray Honda Accord and another car were involved in the accident. One of the cars overturned onto its side in the roadway and caught fire.
The male driver of the Accord was ejected from the car and landed in the No. 1 lane.
One car was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction, as per the report.
Tracy firefighters responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
One person was killed in the accident, the report said.
Westbound I-580 was shut down following the crash. Traffic was being diverted to Corral Hollow Road.
