1 Killed in Flagstaff Big Rig Accident on Interstate 40

Flagstaff, Arizona: One person died, and another was hospitalized after a traffic collision involving a big rig that happened early Thursday morning in Flagstaff.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the accident occurred around 1 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 40 at milepost 207.

The crash occurred when a car hit a deer, and moments later, a big rig carrying produce slammed into the car.

The occupant of the car died at the scene.

The truck driver was hospitalized with head injuries.

Investigators closed the eastbound lanes of the interstate throughout Thursday morning. The left lane remained closed as of 2 p.m.
