Bakersfield, California – At least one person is dead after a car crash that occurred on Monday morning near Garlock in Kern County.
The fatal collision happened around 8:36 a.m. on Redrock Randsburg Road near Garlock Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A white Mercedes was traveling westbound on Redrock and collided head-on with an eastbound Hyundai.
The 53-year-old woman from Topeka, Kansas, driving the Hyundai died at the accident scene.
A passenger in the Hyundai and the driver of the Mercedes sustained major injuries and were both transported to a local hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
