1 Killed in Lakeside Motorcycle Accident on Winter Gardens Boulevard

Lakeside, California – A motorcyclist died in a fiery crash that happened on Tuesday night in Lakeside, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at around 8:05 p.m. on Winter Gardens Boulevard near Lemon Crest Drive.

CHP says a man was riding a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R heading south at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a 28-year-old Lakeside man was driving a 2013 Ford F-150 from a public driveway.

The pickup truck reportedly entered No. 1 lane of southbound of Winter Gardens Boulevard directly in front of the Kawasaki. The motorcyclist was unable to stop and crashed into the back of the pickup truck.

Both vehicles burst into flames after the collision.

The motorcyclist was rushed to UCSD Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver and his passenger were unhurt.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
