1 Killed in Livermore Crash on 580 Freeway near Greenville Road

Livermore, California – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that happened on Wednesday morning in Livermore.

The accident was reported around 6:45 a.m. on the I-580 Freeway near Greenville Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A gray Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound before it drifted to the right for unknown reasons and crashed into the yellow barrels on the right shoulder before coming to a stop in the number five lane.

The driver of the Toyota exited the vehicle and was standing outside the car’s left rear side. A short time later, a Freightliner semi-truck crashed into the disabled Toyota, pushing it into the man.

The victim, a 51-year-old man from Tracy, was killed in the accident.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
