1 Dead, 2 Injured After Pickup Truck and SUV Collide on Loop 101 near Mountain View Road
1 Killed in Loop 101 Crash in Scottsdale
Scottsdale, Arizona: One person died, and two others were injured in a Sunday evening traffic collision involving a pickup truck and an SUV that happened on Loop 101 in Scottsdale.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision took place at around 6:45 p.m. near Mountain View Road.
DPS said the driver of a pickup truck rear-ended an SUV under unclear circumstances.
The force of the crash sent both vehicles off the roadway, where the pickup rolled over into a canal.
The SUV became entangled in the guardrail on the east side of the road, with its rear end suspended in the air above the canal.
The driver of the pickup died in the accident.
The driver and passenger of the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment.
DPS troopers were working to determine whether the pickup driver was impaired at the time of the collision.
