1 Killed in Los Banos Crash at Highway 152 and Road 9
Madera County, California – One person was killed in a traffic collision on Thursday morning near Los Banos.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 152 and Road 9 at around 6 a.m.
Police say a big rig was traveling south on Road 9 when it tried to cross the intersection at Highway 152 when an oncoming car hit its trailer, causing it to spill a load of tree stakes.
One car hit the stakes and drove off the shoulder of the road.
Another big rig swerved to avoid hitting the stakes but ended up hitting an SUV.
A Madera man in his 30s who was driving the SUV died at the scene.
One other person suffered minor injuries in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
