1 Killed in Oceanside Pedestrian Accident at Mission Avenue and Ocean Pointe

Oceanside, California – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Oceanside on Monday night.

According to Oceanside Police Department, the accident was reported at around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Mission Avenue and Ocean Pointe.

The pedestrian was crossing the street and was struck by a gold Nissan Murano traveling east on Mission Avenue.

Police say the pedestrian was also run over by another vehicle.

The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The two drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

More details about the accident were not released.

The accident remains under investigation.

Oceanside, California – Jacob Johnson, 21, and Eduardo Hernandez Zambrano, 19, have been identified as two service members who died in a car crash last week in Oceanside.

The double-fatal crash happened on the southbound side of I-5 near Cocklerburr Road, according to the CHP logs.

Johnson was driving a 2016 Hyundai sedan northbound when he lost control, drifted into the southbound lanes and crashed a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder.

Johnson and Zambrano were killed in the accident. Both were listed as actively serving in San Diego.

The man was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he died while receiving treatment.

4 Children Injured in DUI Crash in Cupertino

Cupertino, California: Four children were hospitalized after a DUI accident that happened Saturday evening at an intersection in Cupertino.

According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, the collision took place around 6:14 p.m. at Foothill Boulevard and Stevens Creek Boulevard.

Investigators said four children ages 4, 7, 8, and 11 were on a sidewalk near the intersection when a silver Mazda pickup truck collided with another car, hit a power pole, and crashed into the children.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures, then transported all the children to local hospitals. One of the juveniles was hospitalized in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck, 38-year-old Adam Wu, of Cupertino, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of narcotics. He was booked into a jail in San Jose.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
