1 Killed in Pittsburg Crash on Highway 4 near San Marco Blvd
Contra Costa, California – One person was killed and another was injured in a car accident that happened in Pittsburg early Thursday morning.
The accident happened on Highway 4 near San Marco Boulevard at around 2 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Jeep Cherokee SUV was stopped in the fast lane after an earlier collision. A Honda Pilot SUV traveling eastbound crashed into the disabled Jeep.
The Jeep driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff-Coroner’s office did not disclose the name of the victim pending notification of the next of kin.

According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
