1 Killed in Portland Pedestrian Accident at Mission Street and Hawthorne Avenue
Portland, Oregon – A pedestrian died after being hit by a car on Thursday evening in Portland.
The accident was reported at around 6:15 p.m. in the area of Mission Street Southeast and Hawthorne Avenue Southeast, according to the Salem Police Department.
A vehicle is reported to have struck a pedestrian east of the intersection.
Responding firefighters pronounced the 51-year-old man dead at the accident scene.
The driver of the car, 69-year-old Daniel Carmona, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
