Salinas, California – A man was killed in a head-on collision that sent one of the cars into a river in Salinas on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 2:07 p.m. on Monte Road near Neponset Road.
A red pickup truck was traveling north when it drifted into the southbound lanes and crashed into a white pickup truck.
The impact of the collision sent the red pickup truck off the roadway and into Salinas River.
The driver of the red pickup truck, identified only as a 33-year-old man from Lockwood, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
