1 Killed in San Diego Crash at Cuyamaca College Dr. and Jamacha Rd

San Diego, California – At least one person died in a car crash that left four other people injured in the Rancho San Diego area on Friday evening.

The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened at around 4:35 p.m. at Cuyamaca College Drive West and Jamacha Road.

A black Honda Civic driven by a suspected drunk driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and struck a black Nissan and a Tesla.

A rear passenger in the Nissan was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The driver of the Nissan was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

The driver of the Honda Civic and front-seat passenger in the Nissan suffered serious injuries in the accident.

CHP says the driver of Tesla sustained minor injuries in the accident.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
