Santa Maria, California – One person died and another was injured in a head-on collision on Monday morning in Santa Maria.
The fatal crash happened on Highway 166/West Main Street just west of Bonita School Road at around 1:38 a.m., according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Two vehicles reportedly collided head-on in unclear circumstances. Both drivers had to be extricated from the vehicles.
One driver was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The second driver was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
