1 Killed in Vine Hill Car Crash on Highway 4 near 680 Freeway
Contra Costa, California (May 19, 2023) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Thursday evening near Vine Hill in Contra Costa.
At around 5:50 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a traffic collision on eastbound Highway 4 near the 680 Freeway on-ramp.
The officers who responded to the incident recovered three vehicles at the accident scene.
One person was transported to the hospital to the hospital where they later died, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office coroner’s division.
The name of the deceased person was not immediately identified, pending the notification of the next of kin.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
