1 Killed, Several Injured in San Bernardino Crash on I-215

San Bernardino, California (May 29, 2023) – One person died, and several others were injured in a car collision with entrapment that happened early Sunday morning in San Bernardino.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 2:11 a.m. on the northbound 215 Freeway, south of University Parkway.

A flatbed truck carrying pallets collided with a car and overturned, spilling the pallets across the side of the road.

The car sustained major front-end damage, including a shattered windshield.

A female occupant of the car was pinned inside.

Firefighters responded and pronounced one person dead at the scene.

The firefighters were forced to remove and adjust parts of the car to gain access and free the trapped woman.

Six people, including a 3-month-old baby, were taken to a local hospital with injuries. Three patients had major injuries, and the rest had minor wounds.

Investigators did not immediately determine the cause of the accident.
