One Person Trapped in Norwalk Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Carmenita Road
1 Seriously Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-5 in Norwalk
Norwalk, California: One person was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Monday morning on Interstate 5 in Norwalk, the California Highway Patrol said.
The pileup was reported around 7:20 a.m. in the southbound lanes just south of Carmenita Road.
The accident involved an older model Toyota Camry, a pickup truck, and two other vehicles.
Debris from the crash was scattered in all traffic lanes. A large toolbox from the truck was blocking the No. 3 lanes, and nails and tools were scattered in the roadway.
The Camry possibly caught fire with a female occupant trapped inside.
Good Samaritans were attempting to get the occupant from the vehicle before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters responded and extricated the victim. She was transported to the hospital with major injuries, including a possible broken leg.
