1 Severely Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Accident on I-880 in Oakland
Oakland, California: One person was sent to the hospital with severe injuries after a ten-vehicle collision that took place Friday morning in Oakland.
The pileup occurred at around 3:42 a.m. on southbound Interstate 880 near 66th Avenue, about two hours after a fatal five-vehicle crash occurred in the same area.
CHP officers said vehicles were backed up due to the deadly accident when a fast-moving driver crashed into other motorists.
The second crash involved ten cars.
One person was hospitalized with major injuries, including multiple cuts to the face and internal injuries. That person was also arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
An investigation is ongoing.
