14 Injured After Bus, Sedan Collide, Hitting Long Beach Restaurant
Long Beach, California: Fourteen people were injured when a bus and a sedan collided and crashed into a restaurant Thursday afternoon in Long Beach.
Long Beach police said the accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. near South Street and California Avenue.
A sedan allegedly ran a stop sign and collided with the side of a bus. The force of the impact sent the car in front of the bus as it drove off the roadway into a nearby restaurant.
The bus lodged the sedan into the side of the building and completely destroyed the storefront.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and used the jaws of life to extricate the driver and passenger of the sedan.
The bus had 11 passengers and the driver on board.
All the sedan and bus occupants suffered injuries ranging from minor to critical. Ten of them were transported to hospitals for treatment. At least four of them required advanced life support.
Police said no one was in the restaurant at the time of the collision. Two people who live in the apartment above the restaurant were displaced because of the damage caused to the building. The residents were being helped by the Red Cross.
South Street between Myrtle and Lewis Avenues remained closed as emergency personnel helped the victims and officers investigated.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
