17 Hurt in Trolley Accident at Industrial Boulevard and L Street
San Diego, California – The Chula Vista Fire Department is investigating a traffic crash involving an MTS trolley that injured seventeen people on Tuesday afternoon in Chula Vista, San Diego.
The collision occurred at Industrial Boulevard and L Street at about 4:30 p.m.
Police said a truck broadsided a northbound trolley at the L Street grade crossing in unclear circumstances.
Sixteen people in the trolley and one individual in the truck were hurt in the crash.
Police temporarily suspended Trolley service between H Street Trolley Station and Iris Avenue Transit Center following the crash. Shuttle buses were provided to serve the stations between Iris and H Street.
No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
