2 Airlifted after Phelan Crash on SR 138 near Highway 2

Phelan, California – Two people were airlifted after being injured in a car crash on Wednesday morning in Phelan.

The accident was reported around 5:07 a.m. on Highway 138 near the Mountain Top Cafe, just east of Highway 2, according to the California Highway Patrol.

An older model Honda reportedly attempted to turn left and was struck by a 2015 Ford Taurus that was traveling in the opposite direction.

The impact of the collision caused the Ford to strike a third vehicle.

First responders arrived at the scene and airlifted the injured driver of the Honda and a passenger of the Ford to an out-of-area trauma center for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
